I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Master’s in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Stony Brook University and diverse experience across various settings, including the psychiatric emergency room, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities. This breadth of experience has shaped my holistic and individualized approach to patient care. I take a thoughtful and conservative approach to psychopharmacology, recognizing that each person has unique needs and deserves personalized treatment.
I am accepting children, adolescent and adult clients currently.
I was born and raised in both Texas and overseas via military father. I experienced the machismo of Texas along with the racism experienced by the mostly Latino/a population in Texas, and always wanted to find a career helping those who have been ostracized and "othered."
I am board certified with a masters degree in nursing from University of Texas, and as a licensed psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner. I practice in the state of New York.
I enjoy assisting those with diagnoses of bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, adhd, and schizophrenia, along with post-traumatic stress disorder, and the varied problems that arise from past trauma.
I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, stress, and burnout. A lot of the people I work with are high functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, or stuck in cycles of worry and overthinking. You can expect me to be calm, warm, and steady. I’m not going to rush you or pressure you to “perform” being okay. I’m interested in how your life actually works day to day: your responsibilities, culture, family roles, and the ways you’ve been coping, not just a checklist of symptoms. Many of the people I see are used to taking care of everyone else; in our work, it’s allowed to be your turn to be the one who gets supported.

Several years later, I pursued an advanced practice degree, also at Columbia University, and earned a PhD. I offer therapy and medication management and the clients and me decide on the best approach.

I have been a nurse practitioner since 2008 and board certified in psychiatry since 2024. As a provider I have always had a focus on mental health, as it is key to whole health! I have a background in palliative care and have extensive experience working with adult and geriatric patients. I am cisgender and straight but I welcome working with the LGBTQ+ community. I do medication management primarily with people with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD. Please note that I do not treat ADHD with stimulant medications. As a telehealth-only provider, I am unable to accept all clients. We will meet for an initial consult to see if we are a good fit, prior to committing to working with each other. I look forward to meeting you!
With the use of therapy or medication I can treat you or your child so that impairments can be identified and the ability to function more easily is achieved.
My training allows me to diagnose and give treatment recommendations based on my assessment which consists of an evaluation gathering personal history, psychosocial and environmental stressors, and symptom review. I can help you understand the diagnosis and determine the cause of the difficulty with the use of medication or psychotherapy.
I am a double Board Certified Psychiatrist with Specialty Fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I completed my Adult Residency Training and Child and Adolescent Fellowship training at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2009 and 2011 respectively.
