**I am a Board Certified-Telemental Health Provider who is prepared to provide tele-therapy services**. I have dedicated my over 25-year career to helping those I work with achieve their optimal mental health. I employ an eclectic approach informed by my extensive training in multiple approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (especially Rational Emotive Therapy (REBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. My focus is individual therapy for those that are age 12 and up, but enjoy working with couples as well.
My approach is to form a partnership that is focused on goals that are collaboratively developed and mutually agreed upon. I am committed to providing a person-centered experience that fully realizes the skills and talents of the person I am working with as well as my own. I understand that rapport is the key to a successful helping relationship. Therefore, I offer a free 30 minute consultation prior to scheduling your first appointment. This can be done by phone, Skype, or in person. Just call to set one up! I look forward to hearing from you!
Hi! I'm Anna, a former professional dancer and somatic therapist who specializes in healing chronic anxiety, trauma, and relationship distress, primarily for queer and BIPOC clients. I've worked in hospital systems across NYC: first in the psychiatric ER at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, then as a primary care social worker at Mount Sinai's Adolescent Health Center.
Working in hospital systems sharpened my clinical skills, but also taught me firsthand the cost of burnout and navigating systems not built for the patients I was serving. Private practice is my answer to that disillusionment and my commitment to doing this work differently. I believe that as a therapist and artist, my work is to courageously seek and express truth alongside my clients — truth that is dangerous to oppressive systems, and life-affirming for the people I serve.
I am a dedicated mental health clinician with extensive experience supporting individuals across a wide range of clinical needs. My work has included treating patients with substance use disorders, dual diagnoses, PTSD, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), anxiety, depression among others. I have a strong background in both community-based mental health settings and outpatient substance use treatment programs, including Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Level 1 care.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual.
Let me share some information about myself. I am a graduate from Brooklyn College for my BA degree and I attended NYU for my masters degree in social work. I have worked in different setting over the years and really enjoy working with all different age groups. I enjoy families, couples and individuals. I enjoy seeing the progress my clients make once they start to see their own patterns and what they feel they should change.
"Clients start to heal the moment they feel heard".
I offer a compassionate, honest, supportive and tailored approach to individuals and families seeking therapy. I connect with a diverse population of individuals, from all walks of life and varying ages who suffer from depression, anxiety, trauma and family conflict.
