I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with more than 10 years of experience supporting individuals and couples in both private practice and clinical settings. I am passionate about helping clients navigate life's challenges, strengthen emotional well-being, and build meaningful, lasting change.
Hi, I'm Sheila, a psychotherapist providing services for over 15 years. I currently specialize in treating OCD and anxiety disorders for individuals of all ages. Common challenges my clients face involve rumination, intrusive thoughts and related behaviors that can present barriers to well-being. In addition to my area of specialization, I enjoy working with couples as well as people experiencing depression, grief, trauma and life transitions.
I'm a trauma-informed therapist in New York and Florida who works specifically with moms of explosive boys. My training is rooted in understanding the nervous system — which means I work beneath the behavior, not just at the surface of it. I'm not going to hand you a sticker chart or tell you to pick your battles. I understand what you're actually dealing with — and I take it seriously.
Hi, I’m Shruthi Nair, a South Asian American therapist and the founder of Bold Brown Therapy. I specialize in supporting South Asian and BIPOC individuals navigating anxiety, depression, cultural identity, intergenerational trauma, body image concerns, chronic illness, and life transitions. My approach integrates CBT, DBT, and IFS while creating a culturally affirming and compassionate space where clients feel seen and understood. I earned my master’s degree in counseling from the University of Pennsylvania and have a background in neuropsychology and mental health counseling. Through therapy, I aim to help clients build healthier relationships with themselves while balancing cultural expectations, family dynamics, and personal growth.
I received my B.A. in Psychology at Macaulay Honors College, CUNY, and my M.Ed. and M.A. in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University.
After graduating, I have been working as a therapist since 2021 with a specialty in the LGBTQ+ community. I have worked with depressive, anxiety (generalized, OCD), ADHD, mood, personality disorders and disordered eating. Experience includes working with issues of self esteem, stress, relationships, parenting, gender, identity, race/ethnicity, immigration, grief, trauma, substances, habits, motivation, focus and attention.
My interests and clinical focuses include self-care, minority body image, Latinx mental health, psychosis in youth, and am passionate about self-acceptance/love. I created and use the motto "Write your own narrative" in my annual bootcamp as a reminder that we each have our own story and control over it.
Guided by my persistent and deep curiosity about the human condition, I now bring over 12 years of clinical experience to my work. Within a secure, collaborative therapeutic relationship, we work together to heal emotional wounds, strengthen inner resources, and integrate all parts of the Self—fostering a more meaningful, conscious engagement with the world.
My clients can expect emotional and psychological support, thoughtful insight and guidance, and skill-building, all in service of empowerment, growth and transformation.
